Joe Satriani and Steve Vai just took Europe to another musical dimension after several sold-out shows last year. Now, the two internationally renowned guitar players are coming to the US for their 40-date tour, Surfing With The Hydra! The spring US tour of the band is expected to be sold out, similar to their recent shows across Europe. Vai fondly speaks of their critically acclaimed European tour, sharing, “The SatchVai Band Summer Euro tour of 2025 far exceeded anything I could have imagined. Joe and I struck pure jammin’ gold night after night. Being in the same band with Joe, playing songs we actually wrote together on stage, in real time felt like watching a childhood fantasy step out of my teenage brain and stroll onto the stage. And somehow, it was even more rewarding, satisfying, and downright fulfilling than I ever thought possible.” Vai’s high regard for Satriani can be traced to the duration of their friendship of fifty years. Aside from Vai, Satriani was also the teacher of world-famous guitarists like Andy Timmons of Taylor Bay Band, Larry LaLonde of Primus, and, of course, Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Satriani and Vai both have 15 Grammy Award nominations, and Vai has won three trophies from the same award-giving body. Satriani has sold over 10 million albums throughout the course of his career, while Vai has sold over 15 million records and was recognized to have the richest and best hard rock guitar-virtuoso album of the '80s. When they formed the SatchVai Band, they also included three more high-caliber performing musicians: guitarist Pete Thorn, drummer Kenny Aronoff, and bassist Marco Mendoza. They are all ready to strike pure jammin’ gold again on this tour!

Animals As Leaders

Originally a solo project by guitarist Tosin Abasi, the experimental metal and instrumental progressive band Animals As Leaders from Washington has become extremely popular in the djent scene. With Javier Reyes on rhythm guitar and Matt Garstka on drums, the band has now released four studio albums that they also perform live. Abasi admits being a fan of both Satriani and Vai, saying, “Our band, in many ways, would not be what it was if not for the impact of these two icons. Getting a chance to hit the US with them is a bucket list experience for us. Can’t want to see you all soon!”
